As promised, this week’s facts are all things Chinese:

The bristled toothbrush originated in China around the year 1498. the bristles, fixed to a bamboo or bone handle, were neck hairs from Siberian boars.

Toilet paper was invented by the Chinese. In 1391, the Bureau of Imperial Supplies began producing 720,000 sheet of toilet paper a year for exclusive use by the emperor. Each sheet measured 2 feet by 3 feet.

Chinese recreational innovations: chess, fireworks, fishing pole nad and hook, hot air balloon, kite, and parachute.

Next week, it will be sports facts!
